Book Signing Table with Mark Dent and Rustin Dodd, Authors of "Kingdom Quarterback"

Fresh off of a gutsy, thrilling 2023 Super Bowl win for the Kansas City Chiefs, Kingdom Quarterback gives us two inspiring stories that fit perfectly together—a biography of superstar quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, who brought the Chiefs to their first Super Bowl win in fifty years in 2019 as well as a second in 2023, along with the historical struggles and recent resurgence of the former “Paris of the Plains,” Kansas City. Already a Raven bestseller, this new book from KC natives Mark Dent and Rustin Dodd is set to be one of the biggest local interest nonfiction titles of the season. Be sure to touchdown at the Raven on September 8 between 3-5 p.m. while Dent and Dodd are tabling—it’s a prime opportunity to ask all of your burning questions while you get your copy of the book signed! About the Book

Fresh off of a gutsy, thrilling 2023 Super Bowl win for the Kansas City Chiefs, two inspiring stories that fit perfectly together—a biography of superstar quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, who brought the Chiefs to their first Super Bowl win in fifty years in 2019 as well as a second in 2023, along with the historical struggles and recent resurgence of the former “Paris of the Plains,” Kansas City.

Kansas City, and the people who live there, have been through a lot, from racial injustice to mob violence to economic struggles. But like so many other Midwestern cities, it’s poised to make a comeback, and no other person or team embodies that possibility like Patrick Mahomes, a Black superstar quarterback who has redefined the position for a new era, and has brought both victories to the Chiefs and pride and joy back to the city.

Mark Dent and Rustin Dodd, both Kansas City natives who have written for outlets like the New York Times, The Kansas City Star, and Texas Monthly, bring their deep connection to the city and polished writing skills to create a serious book about a very entertaining subject—the rebirth of a city, a team’s triumph, and how Patrick Mahomes, and the team he led, were exactly what was needed to bring Kansas City back together again.
