The Lawrence Public Library's Dracula Daily and Booktoberfest Community Read Launch Party
This event is being hosted by the Lawrence Public Library. Register here!
In 2020, Matt Kirkland - a local Lawrencian - started a project called The Dracula Daily, in which bite-sized (get it?) chunks of Bram Stoker’s Dracula were delivered to your inbox over the course of six months. Today it’s an internet sensation, with a few hundred thousand followers, spawning memes galore. Come hear Matt discuss the project and help him with the launch of his brand new book! Participants will receive a free copy of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, which the library has chosen as this year's Community Read, and will be the first to be able to purchase Matt’s new book, sold on-site by the Raven Book Store! Stay for book signings and music and maybe a surprise visit from the other side…
Registration required. Questions? Ask Polli: firstname.lastname@example.org
Booktoberfest is Lawrence Public Library's biggest event of the year for adult readers. Brought together by a shared love of reading, we read a book together and explore its themes through a variety of thought-provoking, conversation-starting events. This fall, enter into the macabre world of one of literature's most iconic villains for this year's Community Read of Dracula by Bram Stoker.
The wildly popular email newsletter that has been described as an "internet sensation" (The New York Times) and "the coolest book club on the internet" (Fast Company) is breathing new life into Bram Stoker's classic vampire novel.
