INDIA BLACK by Carol Karr

I thoroughly enjoyed Carol Karr’s INDIA BLACK. The title character is a lovely and intelligent, young madam in 1876 London. When a government official is found dead in her brothel, she joins forces with a handsome British spy to keep valuable paper from the Russian’s clutches. This mystery is witty, high-spirited, fast-paced and has great humor. Recommended by Rochelle.

The story switches to Erik Maria Bark, a well-known psychiatrist and hypnotist who stopped practicing hypnotism several years ago.
