Join us at the Lawrence Public Library for a book release reading for Lawrence resident, Bryn Greenwood's novel All the Ugly and Wonderful Things. Greenwood has a couple things in common with Wavonna “Wavy” Quinn, the main character in her debut novel, All the Ugly Wonderful Things. For starters, both are the daughters of drug dealers, though Greenwood says her father is “mostly reformed.” And then there’s the fact both Greenwood and Wavy have a bad habit of falling in love with much older men. Clearly, Greenwood took the old adage, “write what you know,” to heart, here, in this original, multi- layered story.
Bryn Greenwood is a fourth-generation Kansan, and the daughter of a mostly reformed drug dealer. She earned an MA from Kansas State University and continues to work in academia as an administrator. Her short fiction has appeared in Chiron Review, Karamu, The Battered Suitcase and Menda City Review. She lives in Lawrence, Kansas.
