STAFF REVIEW: The Joe Grey Mysteries by Shirley Rousseau Murphy
Of course, we do love cats here at the Raven, so one might call my fondness for these books inevitable. They are really fun: Joe Grey and his lovely lady Dulcie wander the streets of Molina Point, seeing everything, solving crimes and occasionally allowing the police to take the credit. Oh, yes. They are cats—talking cats. Wait, wait, don’t roll your eyes yet! These are great books with a little of the supernatural as well as the gritty reality of modern crime. Joe is often acerbic, sometimes impatient with foolish humanity; Dulcie loves to “mother” anything in her way—including her personal human. I so enjoy this series. The first is Cat in the Dark, but they can be read out of order. Recommended by Sarah.
